Suites and Apartments
The nowadays Prague residence was originally only a furrier's workshop known as the "House at Three Golden Chains". It dates back to the 14th century. The House has grown gradually, through creative hands of time, to the current shape of a residence with majestic apartments in Prague. The Hotel-Residence with its Gothic foundations is in this respect a very successful example of how architecture of this type is shaped through many centuries. The house of today is of a classicist style with Gothic elements still preserved mainly on the ground floor. Most of the vaults of the ground floor and first floor of the residence were built during an important Renaissance reconstruction at the beginning of the 17th century. Transformation of the house culminated in the late 18th century with adding an oval tympanum and was followed by a classicist renovation of the façade in the 1st half of the 19th century. Altogether, staying in the apartments of our Prague Residence, located in Prague’s Old Town, just next to the Charles Bridge, lets you feel the history.
The most valuable architectonic details include Renaissance painted timber ceilings in suites, classicist entrance gates to the passageway, consoles on the 1st and 2nd floors and stick railings built on both floors’ galleries.
Think of the Three Golden Chains****Residence Retezova as your home in Prague, and whether you choose a suite, a family residence, or a palatial penthouse, your Three Golden Chains apartment in Prague will uniquely enhance the experience of your visit to the Czech Republic.
